Leatherwood’s is proposing the construction of an outdoor camp for disadvantaged youth particularly youth in the state’s care (i.e.. foster care, group homes, residential treatment centers).

There’s a tremendous need for underserved children to experience the wonders of nature in a safe, healthy environment. Although summer camp is common place for children of middle income parents, parents of lesser means cannot afford to pay fees upward of $300 for a week of camp. Our goal is to offer the five-day Camp Leatherwood experience at nominal cost.
