27-400-3 Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder ( .6-1.8 CEUs)

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an extremely debilitating condition that can occur after exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which grave physical harm occurred or was threatened. Some studies show that debriefing people very soon after a catastrophic event may reduce some of the symptoms of PTSD.

We advise agencies/individuals on the management of specific traumatic situations, and also help with the development of plans, policies, and other mechanisms to deal with traumatic events. Participants will also learn about available treatments for PTSD, other Physical or Emotional Illnesses that Tend to Accompany PTSD; and Who Is Most Likely to Develop PTSD.

Want a hands-on training on this topic? Alcoholism with a new twist is your course. In addition to the typical classroom training, participants will perform functions while wearing “drunk goggles.” In addition, we will view, and discuss an excellent video on the perils of drinking and driving. Leatherwood Enterprises (LE) has an identifiable continuing education or training unit assigned responsibility for administering continuing education and/or training programs. We will help you ensure that certification criteria are followed. The review process is conducted by individual(s) who have been trained in and/or have experiences with the criteria.

Educational services and technical support are provided to the instructors and learners. Educational services provided to instructors include:
Training development and revisions to curricular and assignments;
Assistance from subject matter experts and training director;

End-of-course evaluations are completed by the participants on each instructor’s effectiveness. In addition, periodic observations are made to determine the quality of each instructor’s instructional delivery. Feedback is provided to the instructor:

Instructors are provided assistance and recommended training and counseling.

Each learning activity is evaluated. LE procedures requires that:
